Welcome to Sturford Mead Farm....

We would like to extend a warm welcome to visitors from near and far.

Less than two miles from Longleat in Wiltshire, this family-run, traditional bed and breakfast with alternative self-catering accommodation sits in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of Cley Hill.

A working farm until 1998, there are no livestock but guests may enjoy witnessing an occasional visit from deer, pheasants and woodpeckers.

From the farm, there are superb walks and cycle rides, and we are only a short drive from golf courses in Frome, Warminster and Bradford-on-Avon. Sturford Mead Farm was once part of Lord Bath’s Longleat Estate and he spent much of his childhood here at home with his Nanny Marks. Cley Hill with its Iron Age fortifications is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the western end of Cranborne Chase, a chalk area of land extending from the county of Dorset through to Wiltshire. Cley Hill was famous for reported UFO activity in the 1960s and crop circles have even appeared in recent years.

Among our guests, we have been very pleased to welcome Ben Fogle and Kate Humble, presenters of the popular Animal Park series.
